Ten Reasons To Be Excited This Fall

SF Weekly's first "Fall Arts Preview" comes out next week. The coming months offers a truly skull-splattering array of knockout cultural experiences. Here are just a few of the events I'm particularly excited about in no particular order:
1. San Francisco Opera's world premiere of Philip Glass' new civil war opera, Appomattox (Oct 5 - 24)
2. Alarm Will Sound's world premiere performance of John Adams' Son of Symphony at Stanford (Nov 30)
3. The 6th Annual San Francisco Fringe Festival, produced by the Exit Theatre (Sep 5 - 16)
4. Dutch theatre company, Kassys' Kommer at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (Sep 14 - 15)
5. 8th Annual Litquake Festival (Oct 6 - 13)
6. Marie Antoinette and the Petit Trianon exhibition at The Legion of Honor (Nov 17 - Feb 17)
7. The Pogues in concert at The Fillmore (Oct 21 - 22)
8. Good Vibrations' Amateur Erotic Film Competition at The Castro Cinema (Oct 11)
9. Alonzo King's LINES Ballet's 25th Anniversary Season (Nov 2 - 11)
10. 3rd Annual Free Night of Theatre, organized by Theatre Bay Area (Oct 18)
